The Vero Beach Choral Society joyfully shares a diversity of classical and contemporary choral music with the larger community through exceptional performance and support of promising musical artists.
In the years since its founding in 1983 by Dr. Ray Adams, the Choral Society has performed for audiences far beyond the borders of Vero Beach. In 1991 they participated in the "Bridges of Song for Peace Festival" in Tallinn, Estonia. In the summer of 1994 they joined 500 other choristers from around the world in a 4-day, by-invitation-only festival conducted by Sir David Willcocks, Director of the Bach Choir of London, England. In August of 1998, the Choral Society was invited to be the chorus-in-residence at the Classical Music Festival in Austria held at the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt. They have also sung in major muscial venues in Vienna, Salzburg, and Hungary.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The Vero Beach Choral Society established a Scholarship Endowment Fund in 1997 for seniors graduating from Indian River County high schools and others in the county who plan to major in music performance or music education on a college/university level. Each year $1000 is awarded to a new student and is renewable for three more years if the student remains in good standing as a music major. Candidates may apply through application forms available at their schools. Contributions to this fund are tax deductible.
