Women are invited to the current Bible Study that occurs on the FIRST Monday from October thru May. We meet at the First Presbyterian Church in the E. T. Smith Lounge at 10:30 for Bible Study.

With the support of individuals and organizations throughout our area, the Cultural Council of Indian River County has been active in the community for many years.

The Indian River Community College Small Business Development Center is the Treasure Coast branch of a nationwide non-profit network of college and university based centers sponsored by the SBA. They link the resources of the federal, state and local governments and the private sector to provide entrepreneurs with the one-on-one counseling, management training and information they need to prosper and grow in a complex and competitive economy.

The Mission of Keep Indian River Beautiful is to empower individuals to take greater responsibility for their community environments by involving volunteers in litter prevention and reduction, beautification, neighborhood revitalization, recycling and conservation education.

The Women's Refuge is a biblical residential and non-residential counseling center for those seeking help. We offer counseling to women, men and families in the community and provide a live-in facility for women who need a place to learn new life skills. We also offer groups to the community which includes Conquering Codependency, Anger Management, and Shelter from the Storm for survivors of sexual abuse. Please call about our free monthly luncheon for more information.

The Society is governed by a Board of Directors and an executive committee composed of officers and the immediate past president. The directors and officers are elected at an Annual General Meeting. There are several committees, each with special focus, and members find participation most rewarding.

Dasie Hope is a free after-school program serving approximately 125 children living in the Wabasso area from kindergarten through high school. The Center offers homework assistance, individual tutoring, computer skills, creative arts, gender-specific programming and supervised outdoor sports in a "clubhouse" environment.

Shriners mission is to provide support for 22 Shriner´s Hospitals for children, consisting of 18 orthopedic hospitals, 3 burn hospitals and one hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal injury care. These hospitals have helped more than 750,000 children, at no cost to the patient’s family or to any insurance company for this care.

Our Mission: To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share.

The Original Welcome Wagon Club of Sebastian, a 501 C organization, is composed of women who meet monthly for lunch and special programs. It raises funds to award student scholarships and make annual donations to the needy and others in Indian River County. Newcomers find new friends and learn about the Sebastian community. +Mar. 24. We represent island business interests to the city and county governments. We are committed to helping our members by hosting events that attract more traffic to our beachside shopping and dining district. Some of our projects are Farmers Market Oceanside and Sunset Saturday Night Free Concert Series. See "more Information tab" for contact numbers.

The Archive Center and Genealogy Department is specialized and unique from the rest of the Indian River County Main Library. Since the department was voted the 'Best Genealogy Library in a small town' people travel a long way to use the collection.In addition, the Florida and local history collection is very extensive. Since the hurricanes of 2004, the library has received 10-15,000 photographs and 50,000+ documents.

The Society’s goal is to educate and guide future generations of Indian River County on the value of preserving family records and local histories. The society published in 1987 Cemeteries of Indian River County and is currently compiling church records of Indian River County for a future publication.

The Vero Beach Chapter of the AARP provides activities and education for residents and visitors. Please contact us to receive our newsletter with our current events. Also, our monthly meetings will provide a great source of information on the community, safety and health issues.
