HIBISCUS CHILDREN’S CENTER HONORS CHILDREN AT BLUE RIBBON LUNCHEON & FASHION SHOW

To commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Month, Hibiscus Children's Center will host the annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon & Fashion Show “Springtime in Paris” on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Oak Harbor Club in Vero Beach.  This is The Spring Affair of the season in support of Hibiscus Children’s Center.  Funding for the Center is more important than ever in these times when expenses are rapidly increasing. Your support will ensure the continuity of the vital services for youth living at the Hibiscus Village and help us provide a home environment for teens that have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment.

The festivities will begin at 11am with a champagne reception and guests will have the opportunity to bid on fabulous silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win some very special prizes. Several of our local boutiques will offer their latest fashions to be shown by stunning Miami models during our must-see Fashion Show. The runway fashion show will feature looks from Belle Cose, Cooper & Co., Frances Brewster, Island Cashmere, J. McLaughlin, Melange, Sara Campbell Ltd., Sassy Boutique and Tendencies, with menswear presented by Vernon Scott. 

The event co-chairs, Lisa Giessert and Barbara Rice, and their dedicated committee of volunteers, are planning an elegant afternoon that guests will remember while raising funds and awareness about child abuse.  The “Blue Ribbon Campaign” is a tribute to Bonnie Finney’s three-year old grandson who died at the hands of his mother’s abusive boyfriend in 1989.  Since that time, concerned citizens all over the country have worn the blue ribbon during Child Abuse Prevention Month to symbolize the need to prevent child abuse and neglect.  We hope you will join us on April 5th as we all come together to enjoy a memorable afternoon, but most importantly, to help keep youth safe.   Every day at the Hibiscus Village, we witness youth’s lives being changed through educational and medical services, professional mental health counseling and career preparation and training.  Your support is helping youth overcome trauma and have a brighter future.
