The ARC is the oldest local 501 (c) 3 non profit dedicated to meeting the needs of people with developmental disabilities in Indian River County. The ARC was founded by a group of parents, friends, volunteers and professionals.

The VBPS with a stake in Vero Beach, located at 301 Acacia Road, Vero Beach, FL is a non-profit boating safety education organization. Most of the activity takes place at the squadron building located in Mac Williams Park boat basin, on the Indian River and in the Indian River in Vero Beach.

Treasure Coast Community Health, Inc. has been serving the medical, dental, and behavioral health needs of Indian River County for nearly 20 years. Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic is non-profit, independent outpatient rehabilitation, governed by an all volunteer board of directors, providing services to the residents of the Treasure Coast since 1953. They are dedicated to proving personalized care to improve function and health though Physical, Occupational and Massage Therapies; Personal Fitness programs; Pilate’s Classes; and Community Education. Their goal is to enhance the quality of life, and offer professional services by a friendly, caring and well qualified team.

The National Elephant Center is a 225-acre home for elephants with the potential to expand in the future. We provide short-term and long-term care for North American elephants in support of the accredited zoo population and for the welfare of elephants in need. Though not open to the public, The Center offers education programs that raise awareness about elephants and our work to care for them. Indian River Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian ministry that works in partnership with people from all walks of life and faiths to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness by constructing simple, decent homes with those in need.

Shriners mission is to provide support for 22 Shriner´s Hospitals for children, consisting of 18 orthopedic hospitals, 3 burn hospitals and one hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal injury care. These hospitals have helped more than 750,000 children, at no cost to the patient’s family or to any insurance company for this care.

The Craft Club of Sebastian is located at the Riverview Park, US 1 in Sebastian. It consists of many vendors with all handcrafted items who come from Indian River County, Brevard County and St. Lucie County. They have eight Craft Shows per year beginning in October and ending in May. We Care was created as a cooperative venture between the Indian River County Medical Society and the Indian River County Health Department to help provide free medical treatment to residents in Indian River County who are otherwise financially unable to afford specialty health care. Dasie Hope is a free after-school program serving approximately 125 children living in the Wabasso area from kindergarten through high school. The Center offers homework assistance, individual tutoring, computer skills, creative arts, gender-specific programming and supervised outdoor sports in a "clubhouse" environment.

United Way of IRC is a locally governed and managed nonprofit organization. United Way volunteers run an annual campaign, coordinate a Community Investment Process, manage a Foundation, provide emergency and special project grants to agencies, coordinate volunteer programs like Day of Caring and Santa’s for Seniors, and manage the United Way Center which houses our Community Room, Board Room and a Nonprofit Incubation Center.

The Archive Center and Genealogy Department is specialized and unique from the rest of the Indian River County Main Library. Since the department was voted the 'Best Genealogy Library in a small town' people travel a long way to use the collection.In addition, the Florida and local history collection is very extensive. Since the hurricanes of 2004, the library has received 10-15,000 photographs and 50,000+ documents.

LEAVE A LEGACY® is a community-based program to help people learn about charitable giving through a will or from an estate. LEAVE A LEGACY® does NOT solicit gifts for any particular organization. Instead, the program is a cooperative effort of nonprofit organization members of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Treasure Coast chapter and affiliate Strategic Partners of for-profit professionals.

Dogs For Life is a non-profit that improves the quality of life for people and dogs through training dogs for people with hearing and physically disabilities. Pet Therapy dogs provide comfort at local facilities. The dog park at 12th Street and 16th Avenue allows dogs and people to exercise and socialize. Group Dog Training Classes are open to the public.

The Auxiliary of Indian River Medical Center welcomes dedicated men, women and teenagers who are interested in sharing their time and talents as a volunteer.

Women are invited to the current Bible Study that occurs on the FIRST Monday from October thru May. We meet at the First Presbyterian Church in the E. T. Smith Lounge at 10:30 for Bible Study.

The Welcome Wagon, a non-profit organization, holds several fundraisers throughout the year and the proceeds are given to local charities and for senior scholarships. The Society’s goal is to educate and guide future generations of Indian River County on the value of preserving family records and local histories. The society published in 1987 Cemeteries of Indian River County and is currently compiling church records of Indian River County for a future publication.

Chartered in 1958 by Pilot International, the PILOT CLUB OF VERO BEACH, Inc. has supported and encouraged local youths with annual scholarships and performance based awards. Save The Manatee Club was established in 1981 by former Florida Governor Bob Graham and singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett. SMC was started so the public could participate in conservation efforts to save endangered manatees from extinction. SMC is a membership-based, national nonprofit organization.

The Homeless Family Center provides Emergency and Transitional Shelter for Homeless Families from Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Okeechobee Counties. Our 4th Street facility can accommodate seven families in the Emergency Shelter and twelve families in the Transitional Shelter which translates into a total of 72 individuals that we may house on any given day. In addition, three stand-alone homes are occupied by families who have transitioned from the Center to greater self-sufficiency.

Founded nearly forty years ago, the Vero Beach Duplicate Bridge Club has grown to one of the largest sanctioned ACBL (American Contract Bridge League) clubs in the country. The member-owned and operated club has more than 600 dues-paying members and hosts more than 11,000 tables of bridge per year.

The Youth Guidance Mentoring and Activities Program provides services for about 700 children living in Indian River County in grades K-12 from single parent or non-traditional homes (foster homes, children being raised by grandparents etc.). These children benefit from having a volunteer friend to provide them with friendship and guidance. Children are referred to us from schools, after school programs, counselors, other local agencies, and interested citizens.

OUR MISSION is to encourage and support appreciation and creation of fine art with emphasis on all forms of painting, collage and sculpture. Founded in 1936, the Vero Beach Art Club is an independent not-for-profit organization currently serving over 400 members and the Vero Beach community through monthly meetings, education, exhibitions and social events which include two of Vero Beach's main art shows annually, Under the Oaks and Art by the Sea.

The Samaritan Center is an inter-faith transitional, temporary shelter for homeless families in Indian River County.

Children's Home Society provides Treasure Coast families with a wide spectrum of social services including foster care, adoption, prevention services, emergency shelter, a group home, mental health services, a child protection team and an independent living program.

Childcare Resources provides tuition assistance for quality early care and preschool, support and guidance to help maintain family stability free access to mental health professionals and a wide variety of parenting programs and family enrichment opportunities. Since its founding in 1994, more than 900 children and their families have participated in Childcare Resources programs. The organization is also the proud recipient of the Agency Excellence Award 2001 and 2005 presented by the United Way of Indian River County.

The Exchange Club of Indian River meets every Wednesday from noon to 1:00 pm at Culinary Capers, 737 22nd Street, Vero Beach. There is no charge for new persons who express an interest in joining. The Club is a group of men and women working together to make our community a better place to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and the Prevention of Child Abuse. Its 501(c)3 Foundation raises funds for programs that prevent child abuse.

The John W. Nick Foundation is dedicated to creating Awareness and Understanding by educating the public that men are at risk for developing breast cancer. Our goal is to provide current breast cancer information to the public and the medical community through the internet, seminars, direct mailings, media, and to offer support groups for male breast cancer survivors, patients, and their families.

The Indian River Foundation is here to help the elderly of Indian River County. Devoted to the aid of Indian River County´s elderly who, because of illness, finacial loss, catastrophe or an unanticipated occurrence in their later years, may be in need of financial assistance.
