Riverside Children's Theatre is the youth oriented educational arm of the non-profit Riverside Theatre, Inc. The largest youth theatre in the state of Florida operating in its own facility, RCT provides after school and summer programming and performance opportunities for local youth. An active outreach and scholarship program seeks to involve all the children in Indian River County no matter their circumstances, assisting them in developing confidence, discipline and self esteem. All of Riverside Theatre's events are produced in-house using The Acting Company's staff. Under the direction of Artistic Director Allen D. Cornell, sets, props, lights and costumes are designed and built on-site. Actors, designers and directors from New York and other areas of the country are brought in for two and a half weeks of rehearsals and up to four weeks of performances.
The Vero Beach Museum of Art, the largest cultural arts facility of its kind on Florida's Treasure Coast, is a precious cultural gem that is admired and appreciated by residents and tourists alike. The Indian River Symphonic Association has been bringing quality symphonic music to Vero Beach since 1993. In a typical season seven concerts are presented, including performances by such renowned orchestras as the Royal Philharmonic, the Russian National Orchestra, the German State Philharmonic, the Buffalo Symphony and the Pittsburgh Symphony, to name just a few. Indian River Charter High School, Schumann School for the Visual and Performing Arts' Charter Dome is a one-of-a-kind, open-aired venue located in the center of the IRCHS' campus. Founded in 1990, the Atlantic Classical Orchestra (ACO) encourages and cultivates appreciation and understanding of classical music. Serving as a primary cultural resource in Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast, the ACO presents performances at the highest artistic level; its educational and outreach efforts include its popular Behind the Baton Lecture Series, a Chamber Music Series, and an ongoing relationship with the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony.
